A huge welcome back from Elm class! We're all rested and raring to go for our new term where we'll be here every week blogging our learning adventures.
In Literacy, we're carrying on with our work with Bradley in 'There's a boy in the girls' bathroom' by writing our own stories with a friendship and anti-bullying theme. We all have experience of different types of friendships, so Mrs Tillson is hoping for some in-depth work!
We've found our Maths challenging this week. We're working on multi-step problems so we're working on fluency while we brush up our skills. It's very important that we can confidently solve a multi-step problem so we'll spend a little longer working on it until we've got it.
In Geography, we're looking at mountain ranges. We used Google Earth to check where ranges such as the Pyrenees, The Urals and the Alps were and then checked how tall their highest peaks are!
PE this week saw us practising our basketball skills and we also had a Forest School session with Mrs Mason where we used tools to whittle wood.
In Science, we looked at night and day. We watched a video showing us what happens to the earth when day becomes night. It was very interesting to find out about something that we take for granted.
We are going to the cinema in Middlesbrough on Tuesday to see a Charles Dickens adaptation of The Man Who Invented Christmas. We are very excited, pop back next week to find out how our trip went!
Ben is Elm's Star of the Week this week. Well done Ben!
