Welcome to Elm Class!

We are a class of year 4 and year 5 children with a genuine love of learning!

In Elm class, learners are provided with incredible opportunities which engage and enthuse them in their learning and bring it to life!

As well as an exciting and engaging curriculum, we work hard on our ethos of commitment, kindness, excellence - to ensure every child is given the opportunity to unlock their full potential and has an opportunity to shine.

General information:

P.E: Our P.E lesson is on a Thursday. Children are, however, required to have their P.E kit in school all week to capitalise on opportunities for outdoor learning/extra P.E sessions wherever possible.

P.E kit should consist of a plain white t-shirt, black shorts/tracksuit bottoms and trainers. Any earrings should be removed before the lesson.

Forest Schools: Our Forest School session is on a Monday. Please make sure that you have weather-appropriate clothes and footwear and a spare pair of shoes to wear around school.

Homework: Homework is issued every Monday and is due to be handed in by the following Monday. Elm Class children will be given a page number to work from in their homework books for both maths and literacy.

Spellings: Following the introduction of our new spelling policy, spellings are given out on a Monday and tested on alternate Fridays. Children will be tested on the five they have taken home to practise, plus five others that follow the same rule  in order to assess the children's level of understanding of spelling patterns.
