Elm Class 2017

Welcome to Elm Class!

We are a group of 18 extremely hard-working year 5 children.

Our teacher is Mrs Tillson and we are fortunate enough to have Mrs Gurney working alongside us.

We have already started work on our topic for the half term which is ‘Space’ .

General Information

Homework

Two pieces of homework will be given each week (one maths and one literacy). They will be given on a Monday and should be returned the following Monday so we are able to mark it as a class. Additional challenges will be set on Mathletics, Reading Eggs and Sumdog.

PE

PE will be on a Wednesday afternoon with Mr Bates. (Please ensure appropriate kits are in school from Monday- Friday and all earrings are removed).

When a drone visited Stakesby!

Paul from YorkshireDroneServices.com recently visited Stakesby with his drone to take some images of the children spelling out the word 'GOOD' in celebration of our recent Ofsted success. Year 5 used problem solving techniques in a maths lesson to work out the area that the children had to stand in and how the children and letters would be arranged. A huge 'Thank You' to Paul for his services and patience and keep an eye out in the Whitby Gazette for the images!
