This week we have problem solving using 3D shapes.Using a selection of pyramids, cones, cubes, cylinders and spheres the children attempted to build the tallest tower they could. After experimenting in groups they considered the questions:
Which shapes are best to build with?
Which shapes could go on top?
Isla's group concluded:
" We found the cubes, cuboids and cylinders best to build with and the pyramid could go on top"
A number of the children as part of our growth mind set project can now fasten their own shoelaces. We worked this week in teams, those children who now have the skill passing on their knowledge and advice to those still working on mastering tying their shoelaces.
The Whitby Gazette featured our growth mindset projects in a recent article with some lovely photographs showing the children practicing their skills!!
