This week we have been finishing our endings for the 'The Magic Porridge Pot' and are now beginning to work on a plan for our own magical stories. Our county librarian Shelia Sylvester will share magical stories with the children using her animated style and we will read some extracts from classic fairy tales where magic is the focus. We look forward to reading the children's ideas!!
Addition will be our focus for maths this week and we are beginning with number bonds to 10 which the children need to be able to recall instantly. If you wish to practise these with your child at home this would be very helpful. An example would be: 10 + 0 = 10, 0 + 10= 10, 9 + 1 = 10,
1+ 9 = 10, 8 + 2 = 10, 2 + 8 = 10 etc.
Book fare is in school this week and next, please check the dates on the news letter. The children looked and read some of the books available in assembly time and seemed very excited by what they had seen.
Jude is our certificate winner this week for his story ending which was both original and independently written so well done to him!
