Elm class are well underway with learning the year 5 curriculum and Mrs Tillson and Mrs Gurney are very impressed with their learning!
In maths, we have been focusing on negative numbers, refreshing our knowledge of Roman Numerals and have spent some time on Sumdog doing challenges and assessments.
We have been editing our 'All the Fun of the Fair' descriptive writing this week in literacy. We have some fantastic writers in Elm class! Our spellings are words with a silent 'b' and we are enjoying our Read, Write, Inc. phonics and spelling sessions. We are still learning lots about our Space topic.
In Computing, we have been looking at Piracy, Plagiarism and Copyright theft and what all those concepts entail. We have had some interesting thoughts and discussions about these topics!
We have also been lucky enough to enjoy a puppet workshop this week. David came to school to do a workshop with each class where we learned about puppet techniques and performed a short play. Here are some of our pics:
