We have had a very exciting week in Holly class! On Monday, we got to go to Whitby beach as part of our new topic based on the book 'The snail and the whale'. We walked down to the beach and even got chance to have a quick look at the Captain Cook monument.

Once at the beach we got to create some sand sculptures which can be seen in the photographs attached. We also got to make some faces in the sand using pebbles and seaweed. Our main task was the stone stacking challenge. Mrs Wood had carefully balances pebbles on top of each other and had managed to create a stack of 18 pebbles. All our class worked together in groups to carefully balance our pebbles. Our winning team managed a stack of 12 pebbles!

While at the beach we were able to look at the key features of a beach environment such as the sea, tide, piers, cliff etc. We also looked out to sea to imagine we were the snail and what adventures we would like to go on if Whale came for us! Thank you to everyone who came with us to the beach.

Well done to all of Holly class who all set a fantastic example and created some amazing sculptures.

This week our start of the week is Jake. Well done Jake!
