Welcome back everyone!

We hope you all a fabulous summer and made lots of precious memories with families and friends!

Mrs Maud, Mrs Reynolds and myself are all incredibly proud of how the children have settled into their new classroom. They have quickly learnt new routines and adapted to the higher expectations. They all have a very special job to do (that changes weekly!) Why not ask them to explain what their job entails this week?!!

We are trying very hard to be superheroes, and remember how kind our hands can be helping others. We have made a list of superhero rules and had lots of ticks (our new reward system) adhereing to them. Well done Holly class!

Our topic this half term is 'under the sea' and we are also learning about Captain James Cook. Have a look at our curriculum letter for more information on what other exciting things we will be learning about!

Please keep up the hard work of reading regularly at home, it is sooooooo important! Please also remind your child to change their reading book too - it is something we are encouraging the children to do independently, so thank you for your support here.

Please come and see us if there is anything your child may be worried about x

When a drone visited Stakesby!

Paul from YorkshireDroneServices.com recently visited Stakesby with his drone to take some images of the children spelling out the word 'GOOD' in celebration of our recent Ofsted success. Year 5 used problem solving techniques in a maths lesson to work out the area that the children had to stand in and how the children and letters would be arranged. A huge 'Thank You' to Paul for his services and patience and keep an eye out in the Whitby Gazette for the images!
