This week, 2 of our boys from Elm class, Ewan and John, were chosen to play in a primary school football tournament against other schools in Whitby. We didn't win, but the boys had a great time and displayed great team work and tenacity.
Elm class are now Modal Verb experts! In literacy this week, we have been learning what a modal verb is and how to use it. Please feel free to test us at home!
We have also been doing lots of research in to Christian pilgrimages this week. We have been looking at why Christians go on pilgrimages and where they go.
In maths, we have been using what we know about about number and place value to solve problems, and we've been using different strategies to add and subtract large numbers mentally. As always, we have been problem solving and reasoning to help us with these objectives.
David Hockney's 'The Road to the Studio' has been our focus this week in art and we have created abstract pieces in his style in oil pastels. Why not pop into our reception area for a look?

As usual, we have spent some time on Sumdog. We are quickly moving through the levels and it helps with our times tables and mental maths.
