This week we have begun to read 'Stig of the Dump' which was one of Mrs Leather's favourite childhood books. After only one chapter, we are already hooked! As a class, we have been exploring the character of Stig and have been searching the text for noun phrases connected to him.
We have also begun a local history topic where we are comparing Whitby today to Whitby more than a hundred years ago. To do this we have been studying the photographs of Frank Meadow Sutcliffe who famously took sepia photographs of Whitby and the surrounding area in the late 1800s.
Our teachers are still keeping a close eye on us to spot their 'Star of the Week'. We wonder who it will be?
