Welcome to our class blog!
19/09/16
We have had a really busy start to the term and our new topics are now well underway.
In English, we have been learning about the story of Romulus and Remus and this has tied into our learning about the Romans. We have compared different versions of the story and acted it out in front of the class - evaluating each performance after watching. Here are some pictures...
In maths this week we have continued to focus on place value and have used Base 10 apparatus to help. We were also introduced to Tables Masters this week and will be doing this every Friday morning.
In our curriculum learning this week we have learnt about roman soldiers and the Roman army and in R.E. we learnt all about the Torah. We were fascinated to learn about some of the Jewish beliefs about the Torah and the fact that every Torah is handwritten by a scribe - and it takes 2 years to write!
We began to investigate states of matter in science, looking at all sorts of products to determine whether each is a solid or a liquid. We got them all right, but jelly and shaving foam confused us!! See pictures below.
A big well done to Kyra who was our Stakesby Star of the week in the first week;
well done to Phoebe who has won it this week. Both girls have had a really positive and motivated attitude.
