We know that children who are happy and secure in school, learn better. We have high expectations of our children and are proud that their excellent conduct is often commented on by visitors (including Ofsted 2009, 2012 and 2014) and places that we visit.

We want all our children to feel valued as individuals so we place a strong emphasis on positive strategies that recognise and celebrate achievement and appropriate behaviour in class, in assemblies and at home.

Our Behaviour Policy also sets out clear sanctions which are applied fairly and consistently across school for repeated poor choices of action. In these rare cases, we involve parents at an early stage so that things can quickly get back on track.

Bullying

We don't tolerate bullying of any kind at any level. We never accept that 'it couldn't happen here' and actively promote anti-bullying and prevention messages. As a result, we rarely have to deal with bullying and we are consistently impressed and proud of the positive attitudes and behaviour of our children.

If you are in any way concerned about your child, please let us know. Pop in and see us, give us a ring, send us an email or a text. We will be pleased to hear from you and will put every effort into making sure that your child is happy and you are reassured.

When a drone visited Stakesby!

Year 5 used problem solving techniques in a maths lesson to work out the area that the children had to stand in and how the children and letters would be arranged. A huge 'Thank You' to Paul for his services and patience and keep an eye out in the Whitby Gazette for the images!
